Basketball Game Preview: Apollo Ridge Vikings vs. Homer-Center Wildcats

The Apollo Ridge Vikings and the Homer-Center Wildcats will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Apollo Ridge is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Apollo Ridge is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Carrick on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Apollo Ridge was dealt a 72-37 loss at the hands of Carrick. The matchup marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Homer-Center lost to Penns Manor at home by a 60-44 margin on Friday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Homer-Center now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Apollo Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Apollo Ridge lost to Homer-Center on the road by a decisive 56-39 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Apollo Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
