Baseball Game Preview: Oyster Bay Baymen vs. Carle Place Frogs

The Oyster Bay Baymen are headed away from home for the first time to face off against the Carle Place Frogs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Oyster Bay is leaving town to face Carle Place after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Baymen took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Frogs back in April. Surprisingly, this marked the Baymen's fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

For Carle Place's part, Thomas Schoch was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over six innings pitched. Schoch was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Philip Bunt, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Patrick McCarthy, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Oyster Bay couldn't quite get it done against Carle Place in their previous meeting back in April as they fell 4-1. Can the Baymen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
