Recap: Bartow Yellow Jackets vs. St. Cloud Bulldogs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Bartow Yellow Jackets walked away with it. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 57-47 on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for Bartow as they're now sitting on seven straight.

Edward Wiggins had a dynamite game for Bartow, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Wiggins is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rickjerlin Senior feliz, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why St. Cloud lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alex Springs. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Springs has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Josiah Cotto, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.

St. Cloud struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Bartow has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. As for St. Cloud, their loss dropped their record down to 19-6.

Bartow will head out on the road to take on Lakeland at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Averaging 62.04 points so far this season, Bartow's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Lakeland better be ready for a challenge. St. Cloud is on the road again on Thursday and plays Edgewater at 7:00 p.m. on February 15th. Hopefully St. Cloud focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Thursday.
