Basketball Recap: Freeman Flyers vs. Alcester-Hudson Cubs

Freeman waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with an 80-72 victory over the Alcester-Hudson Cubs. The Flyers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cubs, too.

Freeman got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tate Sorensen out in front who went 11 of 15 on his way to 29 points and eight boards. The dominant performance gave Sorensen a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Walter, who went 8 for 12 en route to 20 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Freeman was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Freeman's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Alcester-Hudson, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freeman will welcome Hanson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
