Basketball Game Preview: East St. Louis Flyers vs. Collinsville Kahoks

East St. Louis and Collinsville are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The East St. Louis Flyers will be playing at home against the Collinsville Kahoks at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. East St. Louis is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, East St. Louis took a blow against Alton, falling 67-16. The game marked the Flyers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, after only 23 points in their last match, Collinsville made sure to put some points up on the board against Belleville West on Tuesday. Collinsville simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Belleville West 59-19. The Kahoks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 23 points or more this season.

East St. Louis' loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Collinsville, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-3.

East St. Louis beat Collinsville 60-50 in their previous matchup back in January. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Collinsville's Talesha Gilmore, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 19 boards. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will East St. Louis still be able to contain Gilmore? There's only one way to find out.
