Basketball Game Preview: Haughton Buccaneers vs. Mansfield Wolverines

The Haughton Buccaneers will face off against the Mansfield Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Haughton blew North Caddo out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday North Caddo got their revenge. The Buccaneers fell just short of the Titans by a score of 51-48.

Mansfield had taken Bossier down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Wolverines were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 54-53 to the Bearkats. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 175th, while the Bearkats are ranked 21st).

Mansfield's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Haughton, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-10.

Haughton was able to grind out a solid victory over Mansfield when the teams last played back in November of 2025, winning 44-34. Will the Buccaneers repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
