League recap: Lafayette tops Clark to extend winning streak

Lafayette extended the longest winning streak in 6A District 8 this week by beating Clark, 53-13. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.

Lafayette took down the Cardinals 53-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Lafayette's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Generals feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Garrett Peavler has thrown for 1459 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Tranard Chester has 24 catches for 473 yards. Kylan Nelson leads the league in rushing with 621 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Madison Central takes on second place Lafayette. Last week, Madison Central defeated Tates Creek, while Carl Hayden's team beat Clark.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Generals take on the Indians. Lafayette has allowed 198 points this season, while Madison Central has given up 223. The Generals allowed 13 points last week as they bested Steve Collins' team.

Lafayette led 6A District 8 in scoring this week after putting up 53 points on the Cardinals.
