Baseball Recap: Hampton Roads Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Norfolk Collegiate on Wednesday, Hampton Roads Academy came back down to earth. The Navigators came up short against the Steward Spartans on Thursday, falling 13-2. The Navigators were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Hampton Roads Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Graham Hutchens, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Hampton Roads Academy has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Steward, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Coming up, Hampton Roads Academy will face off against Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Steward, they will challenge Trinity Episcopal at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Titans will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
