Soccer Game Preview: Legacy vs. Fairview

The Legacy Lightning will head out to square off against the Fairview Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Legacy is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

Legacy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Erie, who was ranked 20th at the time (Legacy was ranked tenth). The Lightning's defense stepped up to hand the Tigers a 3-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering Legacy have won five games by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Erie with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Emma Smedley, Natalie Mezarina, and Makayla Martinez.

Meanwhile, Fairview hadn't done well against Broomfield recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Knights won by a goal and slipped past the Eagles 2-1. Winning may never get old, but Fairview sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Fairview pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those three contests. As for Legacy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1-1.
