Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Folsom). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Marysville Indians a 15-0 shutout on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Jacob Klapper looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Manny Orange was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Logan Hutton, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Folsom always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Folsom moved to 5-14 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Marysville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 15 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15-1 record this season.
