Basketball Game Preview: Owen Warhorses vs. Madison Patriots

The Owen Warhorses will take on the Madison Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Owen's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Owen will bounce into Friday's game after beating Mitchell, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Owen enjoyed a cozy 76-61 victory over Mitchell on Wednesday.

It was another big night for Asante Martin, who almost dropped a triple-double on 31 points, 13 boards, and nine assists. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Lewkowicz, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 20 points along with seven assists and six boards.

Meanwhile, Madison suffered their biggest loss since February 27, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Mountain Heritage, falling 56-33. The contest marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Owen pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for Madison, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Owen came up short against Madison in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 59-51. Can Owen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
