Volleyball Recap: Concord Falls Despite Big Games from Jumaiya Tabayoyong and Edris Asadi

Concord lost against Benicia back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bears took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Concord had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 20-25, 25-21, 25-23.

Concord's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Edris Asadi, who had 11 digs and one assist, and Jumaiya Tabayoyong, who had 15 digs, eight kills, and two aces. Tabayoyong is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had five or more in each of the last 16 games he's played.

Concord's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Benicia, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12.

Concord has already played their next matchup (against Mt. Diablo), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Benicia, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ygnacio Valley at 6:30 p.m. The Panthers are facing the Wolves at the right time seeing as the Wolves are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
