Softball Recap: Patterson Takes a Loss

Patterson easily dispatched Los Banos on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Tigers fell just short of the Dublin Gaels by a score of 7-5 on Saturday. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Gaels from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Patterson got a good showing from Sophia Vannatta, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Jazmine Isom made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Reese Valentine was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one run and one RBI.

Patterson dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Dublin, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Patterson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 defeat against Orestimba on the 3rd. As for Dublin, they have also already played their next matchup, a 14-4 win against Campolindo on the 3rd.
