Recap: Vernon Vikings vs. Passaic Valley Hornets
It was a good run, but The Vernon Vikings unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Passaic Valley 13-7. The low total for Vernon limited their streak of high-flying scores to three in a row.
Despite the loss, Vernon still got an impressive performance from Logan Pych, who rushed for 202 yards, and also threw for two yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Pych hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for nine straight games.
Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Passaic Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Vernon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Passaic Valley is on the road again on Friday and play against Montville. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Montville is ranked 95th, while Passaic Valley is ranked 70th).
