Baseball Game Preview: Roncalli Catholic Crimson Pride vs. Concordia/Brownell/Omaha Christian Academy

The Roncalli Catholic Crimson Pride will head out to square off against Concordia/Brownell/Omaha Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Roncalli Catholic will be strutting in after a win while Concordia/Brownell/Omaha Christian Academy will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Roncalli Catholic turned things around against Omaha Central on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagles, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Crimson Pride have posted since April 4th.

Sean Philbin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. He has become a key player for Roncalli Catholic: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Roncalli Catholic's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jake Retallick, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Concordia/Brownell/Omaha Christian Academy was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They fell just short of Seward by a score of 1-0. The loss continues a trend for Concordia/Brownell/Omaha Christian Academy in their meetings with Seward: they've now lost four in a row.

Concordia/Brownell/Omaha Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Roncalli Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.
