Baseball Recap: Village Tech Comes Up Short

If Village Tech was feeling good fresh off their 20-12 takedown of Trinity Leadership last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Village Tech fell just short of Trinity Leadership by a score of 12-11 on Monday. The Viper Squid were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 20-12.

Carter Gray stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicolas Soto, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.

Gray wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Village Tech kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Village Tech's record is now 1-8. As for Trinity Leadership, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-8-1 record.

Coming up, Village Tech will challenge Keene at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keene will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Village Tech surely won't give up without a fight. As for Trinity Leadership, they will take on Madison at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Madison has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13 runs per game on average), something Trinity Leadership will no doubt try to take advantage of.
