While Islands's victory against Long County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Sharks narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Blue Tide 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Blue Tide: they've now won three in a row.

Islands had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-17, 15-4.

Islands' win bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Long County, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-12.

Looking ahead, Islands will head out to square off against Southeast Bulloch at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Long County has already played their next match (against Frederica Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
