Baseball Recap: Trinity Classical Academy Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Trinity Classical Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Vasquez Mustangs a 4-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-4 on Monday.

Andrew Carlson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Those 15 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4.

Carlson wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was John Carlson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Trinity Classical Academy's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Vasquez, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-7.
