Basketball Recap: Central Cabarrus Falls Short of East Henderson in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Central Cabarrus can now relate to. They lost 64-41 to the East Henderson Eagles on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 274th in North Carolina, while the Eagles are ranked 100th in North Carolina).

East Henderson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caiden Brewer, who went 9-for-20 en route to 23 points along with eight boards and seven assists. Brewer's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Adams, who went 7-for-15 to rack up 20 points and six rebounds.

Central Cabarrus is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-14. As for East Henderson, they pushed their record up to 27-0 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home.

Central Cabarrus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Henderson, they will challenge Oak Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Grove knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully East Henderson likes a good challenge.
