Basketball Game Preview: Mid Valley Spartans vs. Holy Cross Crusaders

The Mid Valley Spartans will challenge the Holy Cross Crusaders at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.

Mid Valley is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest loss since February 1, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 61-39 to Riverside. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Holy Cross, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 69-61 win over Old Forge on Tuesday. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 87th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Holy Cross pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Mid Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
