Football Recap: Philip Comes Up Short at Home Against Wall

Philip unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 54-6 loss at the hands of the Wall Eagles. The Scotties were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-0.

Jace Mohr had a dynamite game For Wall., rushing for 182 yards and three TDs on only seven carries. Those 182 rushing yards gave Mohr a new career-high. Tanner Volmer was another key player, throwing for 191 yards and four touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Philip will host Timber Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wall, they will be playing at home against Harding County/Bison at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 931 yards in their previous games.
