The El Rancho Dons will head out to challenge the Santa Fe Chiefs at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Monday, El Rancho got the win against St. Paul by a conclusive 11-5. The result was nothing new for the Dons, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Lauren Cervantes looked comfortable as she tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Delilah Gonzalez was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Malaya Vargas, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Santa Fe, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against Whittier on Tuesday as they made off with a 10-3 win.
Mia Alvarez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lexi Munoz, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Coppin, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Santa Fe's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10. As for El Rancho, their record now sits at 11-7-1.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. El Rancho hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .356. However, it's not like Santa Fe struggles in that department as they've averaged .343. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went El Rancho's way against Santa Fe in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as El Rancho made off with a 13-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
