Softball Recap: Maiden Wins Going Away Against East Burke

Maiden won against Lincolnton last Friday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Everything went Maiden's way against the East Burke Cavaliers as Maiden made off with an 11-5 victory. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Raegan Rembert made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with one stolen base and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Maiden got a massive performance out of Olivia Wray, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Wray has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aaralyn Bodenheimer, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4.

Maiden's record is now 6-4. As for East Burke, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Maiden will face off against rival West Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, East Burke is set to challenge their familiar foe Bandys at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
