Richmond's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Vallejo Redhawks, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Oilers have posted since February 12, 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Richmond got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-18, 22-25, 26-21, 23-25, 15-12.

Richmond's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-11 and their overall record up to 3-14. As for Vallejo, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-16.

Coming up, Richmond will face off against Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Oilers are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a five-game losing streak. Vallejo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
