Basketball Recap: West Henderson Falcons vs. Franklin Panthers

West Henderson played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 73-43 loss at the hands of the Franklin Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 567th, while the Panthers are ranked 150th).

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tucker Robinson, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Robinson now owns an excellent 46.8% field goal percentage. Tyler Nash was another key player, putting up six points and 12 boards.

Leading Franklin to victory were Jack Jack Teesateskie and Max McClure. Teesateskie went 10 of 22 to rack up 25 points and four steals, while McClure almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. What's more, McClure also racked up four steals, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Braylen Dezarn, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 14 points and four steals.

West Henderson dropped their record down to 3-20 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Franklin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Coming up, West Henderson will head out to square off against Tuscola at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Henderson is facing Tuscola at the right time seeing as Tuscola is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. Franklin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
