Baseball Game Preview: El Dorado Wildcats vs. Cheney Cardinals

The El Dorado Wildcats will challenge the Cheney Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for El Dorado: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while Cheney has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

On Friday, El Dorado had just enough and edged out Arkansas City 5-4.

Meanwhile, Cheney never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past Trinity Academy 7-0. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Josh Burdick made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over 6.1 innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kaden Ludwig was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Cameron Eastman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs.
