Baseball Game Preview: Highland Park Scots vs. Northeast Vikings

The Highland Park Scots will take on the Northeast Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Highland Park will be strutting in after a victory while Northeast will be coming in after a defeat.

Highland Park will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs last Tuesday, then bounced right back against Wyandotte on Tuesday. The Scots put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 11-2 win. Considering the Scots' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Mason Foxford was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Foxford was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.

Meanwhile, Northeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 28-0 to East.

Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Highland Park, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-0-2.

Highland Park took their win against Northeast in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 20-6 score. Do the Scots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
