Softball Game Preview: Niagara Badgers vs. Coleman Cougars

Niagara hasn't had much luck against Coleman recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Badgers will host the Cougars at 4:30 p.m.

Niagara is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They lost 12-0 to Hancock.

Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for Coleman, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They walked away with a 13-9 win over Hancock on Saturday. Coleman's victory was all the more impressive since the Bulldogs were averaging only four runs allowed on the season.

Alyssa Kurth was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy Nowak, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Coleman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Coleman's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Niagara, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
