Basketball Recap: Cleveland Comes Up Short

After soaring to 60 points the game before, Cleveland was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They were beaten by the Walker Valley Mustangs 74-30. The Blue Raiders have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Cleveland lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Antonio Westfield, who posted four points and seven rebounds. Maguire Evans was another key player, putting up five points.

Cleveland's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Walker Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cleveland will square off against Bearden at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Bearden's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 contests. As for Walker Valley, they will challenge Oak Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
