Basketball Recap: Sylmar Spartans vs. Van Nuys Wolves
Make it nine blowout wins for the Sylmar Spartans this season. They put the hurt on Van Nuys with a sharp 94-71 win on Friday. With Sylmar ahead 50-19 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Sylmar's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joseph Dickson, Jr, who scored 24 points along with six steals. Another player making a difference was Nathan Lee, who scored 17 points along with five assists and four steals.
Sylmar is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-14 record this season. As for Van Nuys, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-9.
Sylmar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Van Nuys also has no future games currently scheduled.
