Preview: East Rowan Mustangs vs. Carson Cougars
The East Rowan Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Carson Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Rowan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 512th, while Carson is ranked 160th).
Last Tuesday, East Rowan was beaten by Northwest Cabarrus 73-33.
Despite their loss, East Rowan saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Drake Jones, who scored ten points, was perhaps the best of all.
Meanwhile, even though Northwest Cabarrus scored an imposing 61 points on Friday, Carson still came out on top. Carson enjoyed a cozy 79-61 win over Northwest Cabarrus. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Carson.
East Rowan has not been sharp recently as the team has lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season. As for Carson, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.
East Rowan was dealt a bruising 88-53 loss at the hands of Carson when the teams last played back in January. Can East Rowan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
