Baseball Game Preview: Fivay Falcons vs. Lakeside Christian Lions

The Fivay Falcons will square off against the Lakeside Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Fivay comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Fivay fell victim to Anclote and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 20-0 to the Sharks.

Meanwhile, Lakeside Christian won against Keswick Christian on Tuesday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Lakeside Christian had just enough and edged out Admiral Farragut 6-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Cal Richey and Chris Aguilera Pena were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Richey pitched 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Aguilera Pena pitched 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. At bat, Richey scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Aguilera Pena scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Paul Benetis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Cappiello, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

The victory got Lakeside Christian back to even at 2-2. As for Fivay, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
