Volleyball Recap: Cuba City Find Success

While Cuba City's victory against Fennimore wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cubans skirted past the Golden Eagles 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cubans also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Cuba City was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-22, 16-25, 25-15, 15-9.

Emersyn Niles was nothing short of spectacular: she had 15 digs and four aces. Those four aces gave her a new career-high. Trina Redfern was another key player, getting 15 digs.

They weren't the only good server: Cuba City was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Cuba City is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Fennimore, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Cuba City is set to challenge their familiar foe Mineral Point at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Fennimore will square off against rival Iowa-Grant at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th.
