Basketball Recap: Ridgecroft Takes a Loss

Ridgecroft and Victory Christian Center squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Ridgecroft had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Victory Christian Center Kings 82-16. The Rams have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Victory Christian Center's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sofia Ponce led the charge by going 7-for-11 to rack up 17 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Those six steals gave Ponce a new career-high. Roselyn Sanchez was another key player, going 7-for-11 on her way to 17 points and four steals.

Ridgecroft's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Victory Christian Center, they pushed their record up to 14-9 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Ridgecroft does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Victory Christian Center, they will take on Crossroads Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Victory Christian Center knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Crossroads Christian likes a good challenge.
