Football Recap: Adams Takes a Loss

Adams was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 40-7 loss at the hands of the North Mesquite Stallions.

Isaiah Del Rio threw for 89 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. Andres Cruz was his top target, picking up 61 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Dimera Smith rushed for 35 yards.

Leading North Mesquite to victory were Julien Simpson and Tyedrick Hamilton. Simpson rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, while Hamilton rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Simpson got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 64 yards.

Adams' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for North Mesquite, the win snapped their losing streak at 11 games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-2 record.

Adams will be playing in front of their home fans against White at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. White will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Adams surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Mesquite, they are taking a road trip to take on West Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Mesquite is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
