Softball Game Preview: Andrews Yellowjackets vs. Timberland Wolves

The Andrews Yellowjackets will face off against the Timberland Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Andrews' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Timberland's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

While Andrews' victory against Carvers Bay wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Andrews came out on top in a nail-biter against Carvers Bay on Monday, sneaking past 9-7. The win was familiar territory for the Yellowjackets, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Meanwhile, Timberland came up short against Goose Creek on Friday and fell 12-7. That's two games in a row now that the Wolves have lost by exactly five runs.

Emilee Waters made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 4-for-4. Kaylee Waters was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Even though they lost, Timberland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Goose Creek only posted a batting average of .241.

Timberland's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Andrews, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Andrews skirted past Timberland 6-4 in their previous meeting back in March of 2020. Will Andrews repeat their success, or does Timberland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
