Basketball Game Preview: North Boone Vikings vs. Harvard Hornets

The North Boone Vikings will venture away from home to take on the Harvard Hornets at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for North Boone and seven for Harvard.

North Boone is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Dixon on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. North Boone came up short against Dixon, falling 62-39. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 534th, while the Dukes & Duchesses are ranked 123rd).

Meanwhile, Harvard scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Big Foot by a score of 61-59.

Harvard's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for North Boone, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-13.

North Boone beat Harvard 38-29 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Boone since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
