Soccer Recap: Orange Lutheran's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Wednesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against JSerra Catholic, Orange Lutheran was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They never let the Santa Margarita Eagles onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Eagles are ranked 102nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Maxwell Hernandez was the driving force of Orange Lutheran's attack as he scored both of Orange Lutheran's goals, bringing his season total up to three goals.

Orange Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 9-5-3. As for Santa Margarita, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orange Lutheran will face off against Servite at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Santa Margarita, they will challenge JSerra Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. JSerra Catholic will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Santa Margarita surely won't give up without a fight.
