Baseball Recap: Vandebilt Catholic Comes Up Short

Vandebilt Catholic suffered their closest loss since February 27th on Saturday. They fell just short of the Vermilion Catholic Eagles by a score of 5-3. The Terriers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Vandebilt Catholic's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-7. As for Vermilion Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Vandebilt Catholic and Vermilion Catholic should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. The Terriers will square off against E.D. White at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (17 vs. 90). Meanwhile, Vermilion Catholic (ranked 47th) will meet Delcambre (ranked 168th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
