Soccer Game Preview: Martin County vs. Northeastern

The Martin County Gators will head out to take on the Northeastern Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Martin County is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Martin County played against Pasquotank County on Monday and lost via forfeit.

Northeastern is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to nine goals on Wednesday, they were much more limited against First Flight on Thursday. They lost 6-0 to the Nighthawks. While losing is never fun, Northeastern can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while First Flight are ranked 84th).

Martin County's loss dropped their record down to 1-10-4. As for Northeastern, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9-1.

Martin County might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from Northeastern when the teams last played on October 8th. Can the Gators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
