Football Game Preview: Forest Hill Patriots vs. Hattiesburg Tigers + How To Watch

The Forest Hill Patriots will square off against the Hattiesburg Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Forest Hill has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Hattiesburg will arrive with three straight victories.

On Friday, Forest Hill lost to Terry at home by a 24-6 margin. The Patriots were down 24-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hattiesburg). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Jim Hill 43-0. Given Hattiesburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Jim Hill is ranked 224th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

A big part of Hattiesburg's win came down to the chemistry between Gavin Ducksworth and his top target Davion Young. Ducksworth threw for 209 yards and five touchdowns on only 16 passes while Young picked up 145 receiving yards and three TDs. Young's longest reception was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total.

Forest Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Hattiesburg, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
