Baseball Recap: Great Hearts Northern Oaks Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jourdanton, Great Hearts Northern Oaks was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cole Cougars a 1-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Griffins have posted since March 21st.

Not much got past Nicholas Franzese, who gave up just six hits to keep Cole off the board. Franzese also tossed no walks, which is notable because Great Hearts Northern Oaks is 5-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-8 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Santiago Garcia, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

The win got Great Hearts Northern Oaks back to even at 10-10. As for Cole, they dropped their record down to 4-18 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road.
