Basketball Recap: Snake River Comes Up Short

Snake River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They took a blow against the South Fremont Cougars, falling 60-25. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-18 back in December of 2024.

It was another big night for Brianne Bailey, who almost dropped a triple-double on 25 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists for South Fremont. Bailey has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Hayden Larson was another key player, going 6 for 12 on her way to 13 points.

Snake River's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for South Fremont, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1.

Snake River didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-22 defeat against Sugar-Salem on the 10th. As for South Fremont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-48 victory against Marsh Valley on the 10th.
