Basketball Recap: Harlan Comes Up Short

Harlan played a tough match on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 30-3 defeat at the hands of the EPIC Academy The Legends. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.

Mariah Clark was her usual excellent self, putting up 21 points for EPIC Academy. Clark's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Harlan has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.0 points per game. As for EPIC Academy, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harlan will take on Gage Park at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Harlan's defense has only allowed 21.3 points per game this season, so Gage Park's offense will have their work cut out for them. EPIC Academy has already played their next contest (against Goode STEM Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
