Football Game Preview: San Pedro Pirates vs. Carson Colts + Official Tickets

Two dominant signal callers in Seth Solorio and Chris Fields iii are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The San Pedro Pirates will be playing at home against the Carson Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Carson will be up against a hot San Pedro squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Pirates breezed past Gardena to the tune of 49-14 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Pirates' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Panthers are ranked 612th).

Meanwhile, Carson never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 50-0 victory over Narbonne. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Colts just coasted through the last quarter.

One reason for the win was Carson's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Kingston Sula, Curmon Williams, and Bruce Thornton, who each picked up one sack apiece. Carson got some further help from Sula: he picked up a sack and made six total tackles (3.0 for loss).

San Pedro now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Carson, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

San Pedro didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Carson when the teams last played back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 40-34 victory. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Colts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
