Softball Game Preview: Marlboro Academy Dragons vs. Lee Academy Cavaliers

Marlboro Academy is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will be playing at home against the Lee Academy Cavaliers at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Monday just wasn't the day for Marlboro Academy's offense. They lost 8-0 to Dillon Christian on March 3rd.

Meanwhile, Lee Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Thomas Sumter Academy on Monday and fell 11-10. The loss continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their meetings with the Generals: they've now lost three in a row.

Ansley Nesbit was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two triples, and one RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Jameson Collins was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Marlboro Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lee Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Marlboro Academy skirted past Lee Academy 14-13 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Does Marlboro Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lee Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
