The Ben Holt College Prep Academy Bobcats will take on the Lathrop Spartans in a tournament on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Ben Holt College Prep Academy's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 25-0 margin over Aspire Langston Hughes Academy. The contest marked the Bobcats' most dominant victory of the season.

Emma Valli and Gabriella Rojas were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Valli struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Rojas pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Valli went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI, while Rojas went 4-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those four hits gave Valli a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ben Holt College Prep Academy got a massive performance out of Adryana Young, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Young has posted since back in April of 2024. Leyah Young was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Ben Holt College Prep Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .786. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Lathrop got the win against Pacheco on Monday by a conclusive 12-2. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.
Maci De Costa made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. De Costa was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Tianna Gonzalez was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Ja'Leiyah Ray, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Ben Holt College Prep Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Lathrop, their record is now 10-7.
