Baseball Recap: Columbian Continues Road Dominance on Friday

After losing to Willard the last time they met, Columbian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Tornadoes walked away with a 7-3 win over the Crimson Flashes on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tornadoes.

Columbian's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-12. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Willard, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

Columbian will square off against Clay at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Tornadoes' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Willard, they have already played their next game, a 10-0 loss against Newark Catholic on the 17th.
