Baseball Recap: Fruitdale Comes Up Short

Fruitdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Washington County Bulldogs, falling 16-1. The Pirates were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Fruitdale saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Reed, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Fruitdale's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Washington County, with the win, they broke their 11-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fruitdale will head out to face off against Choctaw County at 4:00 p.m. on March 24th. As for Washington County, they will face off against Millry at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
