Football Recap: Princeton Starts off Right with Win over Ayden - Grifton + How To Watch

Princeton took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They snuck past the Ayden - Grifton Chargers with a 40-35 victory.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Austin Lewallen and Teo McPhatter. Lewallen gained 150 total yards and three touchdowns while McPhatter rushed for 119 yards and one touchdown. McPhatter's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 119 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Ayden - Grifton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Loyalty Fuller, who rushed for 59 yards and one TD, and also caught one score. Another player making a difference was Damari Quinnerly, who rushed for 64 yards and one touchdown on only six carries.

Looking ahead, Princeton will take on East Duplin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ayden - Grifton, they will challenge North Pitt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
